Thelma Golden,
Director and Chief Curator of The Studio Museum in Harlem was among several art
world movers and shakers who came out in support of Theaster Gates and the
opening of his exhibit 13th Ballad on view May 18 – October 16, 2013 at The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
In
addition to Golden, Naomi Beckwith, Dawoud Bey, Lamont Hamilton, Richard Hunt,
Tony Lewis, Hank Willis Thomas and Hamza Walker also added to the spirit of celebration.
