From
thebutchersdaughtergallery.com:
In this
self-titled, second solo exhibition at The Butcher’s Daughter, new, never-before-seen,
sculptural works will be on view by the artist.
Beasley’s
site-sensitive installation of work marks the precarious and relational aspects
of his sculpture and the personal interconnections between the artist and
viewer.
Hallmark
characteristics of Beasley’s work such as empirical handling and responsiveness
to materials and distinctive, thorough consideration of space and personal
intimacy allows patrons and viewers to participate in an affecting and spirited
exchange.
Kevin
Beasley was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, in 1985. He holds an MFA from Yale
University (2012) and received a BFA from the College for Creative Studies in
Detroit (2007).
He
currently lives and works in New York City.
