Who would you be if you did something “unchained” everyday for 30 days?
From Live Unchained:
Who would you be if you did something “unchained” everyday for 30 days? Hmmm… we think you’d be lighter, brighter and oooooozing creative confidence. But, that’s just our opinion – let’s find out together…
Starting Thursday, January 10th (the day this organization was born), everyday for 30 days, we’ll share excerpts of our most popular interviews with female artists across the African diaspora here on www.liveunchained.com. Each day we’ll give you an “Unchained Challenge” inspired by the featured artist’s creative journey: We call it “30 Days Unchained/#30unchained.” This isn’t just a challenge, it’s also an interactive countdown to the unmissable Live Unchained Anniversary Celebration on Friday, February 8th. You can get your ticket now at: www.liveunchained.eventbrite.com.
SO WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
What really makes 30 Days Unchained/#30unchained a fun challenge is that you’ll be using your right brain. We’re asking you to think in images, not just words, by responding to the challenge with photos or images you create, find or remix. For example, when we interviewed Issa Rae of “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl” she told us: “Creating this series from the awkward black girl’s point of view was important to me because that voice just isn’t represented in anything I see on TV or film right now. I wanted to see a character that I personally identified with on screen…” So, for the challenge of the day for this interview, we might ask you: “What would you like to see mainstream media offer more of to you?” Your task is not just to tell us, but to show us. Like Issa, do you want to see more awkward black girls? Then, as we said, create, find or remix an image that reflects your response and share it with us on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.

We broke it down into 4 easy steps. Starting THURSDAY, JANUARY 10th:
